Tourism Sector Boosts Economic Recovery

Tourism remains a key driver of Cyprus’s economic growth. In 2025, tourist arrivals increased by 9% compared to the previous year, with demand driven by travelers from Europe and the Middle East. The hospitality and services sectors have benefited from increased bookings, longer stays, and higher spending per visitor, generating revenue that contributes significantly to GDP.

Hotel occupancy rates reached 78% on average, while high-end resorts reported even stronger performance. Airlines and travel operators have expanded routes to Cyprus, making the island more accessible and supporting job creation across tourism-related industries. Ancillary sectors, including transport, retail, and entertainment, have also seen robust demand.

Government initiatives promoting sustainable tourism, combined with the recovery of international travel, are expected to maintain momentum. Analysts predict that tourism will continue to support economic growth, with revenues contributing to fiscal stability and investment opportunities across the private sector.
