Limassol: large forest fires, hundreds of destroyed homes, and casualties.

In July 2025, large-scale fires broke out in the Limassol area — the flames destroyed hundreds of buildings, burned forests over an area of approximately 125 km², damaged infrastructure, and caused power outages in several districts. An elderly couple died, and dozens of residents were injured. Rescue teams and emergency services continue to extinguish hotspots and assess the damage.
